Installation and maintenance
- Clean the groove, shaft or housing and remove burrs, sharp edges and contamination.
- Compare the new component with the removed sample and confirm its orientation.
- Use a compatible assembly lubricant and protect the sealing edge while passing threads, keyways or ports.
- Install without twisting, overstretching or striking the sealing surface.
- Start the equipment at low load and inspect for leakage, heat, noise or abnormal friction.
